Expressing what words cannot.
Art not only became a language of sight through watercolor, ink, charcoal, and digital creations for me, but a way to express what words cannot.
As a child, I found art as a channel to express and reflect on my emotions. As an adult, I found it as a form that displayed my appreciation for life from flowers, trees, mountains, leaves, to the uncovered human body.

Drawing bare bodies enveloped in nature, is not only enjoyable to draw, but helps me gather a deeper appreciation for plants, the curvature of flower petals, and the angles bodies' can form.

Appreciating the earth increased my desire to protect it in the smallest ways I could. Learning more about Mother Earth's decline influenced me to become a vegetarian to lower my carbon footprint and to throw out my relaxers.

Embracing my natural beauty is a continuous journey that inspires my nature-surrounding-dark-skinned-curly-haired-women on repurposed cardboard pieces.
Acknowledging my naturalness also invigorated a longing to add life to speaking out my middle name, so I started Hakeemah's Wind.
My work is inspired by self-love and life forms that grow from the earth. I find it important to embrace the world of creation, and doing it in a way that respects and honors Mother Earth, because She has just given so much to us.
